Description: This contract involves the upgrading the Northern and Southern stopbanks to protect Franz Josef from the Waiho River.
Site works include upgrading of existing gravel stopbanks including rock work and the construction of new sections of gravel stopbanks including rock work over 2.60km on the true right bank of the Waiho River. 140,000 tonnes of rock is supplied from MBD Contracting’s Whataroa Quarry, carted and placed on the raised and newly constructed gravel stopbank.

Contract Period: This contract commenced 1st September 2015 and has a 7 year contract period with a potential reward of an additional 2 years.

Description: This contract is for the maintenance, management and delivery of services for 886km of state highway within the Contract Area Network.
MBD Contracting is one of a number of local contractors that have been engaged by Fulton Hogan to assist them with the delivery of the contract for New Zealand Transport Agency. MBD’s role within the contract is to carry out and complete the pavement rehabilitation, rock protection, river works and emergency works.
