MBD Contracting was engaged by Fulton Hogan as a subcontractor for this contract. Our involvement included undertaking of earthworks (27,000m3 of cut to waste, 80,500m3 of bulkfill), constructing of a section of the Westland Wilderness Cycle Trail, realigning the Chorus Fibre Optic cable, installing new stormwater pipes and swales, constructing of stormwater detention ponds and their outfall to the Taramakau River and constructing the road pavement for the new bridge alignment.
MBD completed the work within the contract period and to the tendered contract rates; there were additional variations which included installing additional stormwater pipes, supplying and laying engineered fill for a mass block wall and various day works items.
