Hannah’s Clearing Coastal Protection and Waste Removal

Contract Duration:

June – July 2025

Contract Description:

This project was for the construction of a rock revetment along an exposed 300m section of the beach at Hannah’s Clearing. Site works involved the removal of existing eroded waste, forming a face for the rock seawall, encapsulation of the cut face with geotextile and delivery of rock from Okuru Quarry to site and placed for the construction of the rock seawall.

Contract Achievement:

The contract was completed within the agreed timeline, despite intermittent delays in progress caused by adverse weather conditions and high tides that restricted access to the site at various stages of the construction process. Despite these challenges, the project team maintained progress through careful planning, schedule adjustments and efficient co-ordination of staff, machinery and rock supply. A total of 13,000 tonnes of rock was transported by road from Okuru Quarry and successfully placed onsite. The work was carried out with strict adherence to project specifications, environmental requirements and safety protocols.
