Contract: R2015/5 Drilling, Blasting, Stockpiling and De-Rubbling of West Coast Regional Council Quarries

Description: This contact is for the operation of four nominated West Coast Regional Council quarries with the specific purpose of producing Armour-Grade protection rock. Work includes drilling and blasting as and when required, stockpiling rock and rubble, managing quarry waste and maintaining available rock stockpiles at each quarry.
Contract: C2014/E6 Kaiapoi River Stopbank Buttressing

Description: This contract is for the supply and placement of approximately 5,725 m3 of compacted gravels to construct and form a buttress over 975m on the existing Kaiapoi River Stopbank near its confluence with the Waimakariri River. Works also included the installation of a new headwall, extension of a culvert and the extension of an open drain through the new buttress. The completed buttress is topsoiled and hydroseeded.
Contract: GDC 2013-14-08 Westland Recreation Centre Earthworks

Description: This contract is to remove approximately 5,000m3 of unsuitable soil and other material to a maximum depth of 4.5 metres and supply, place and compact bulk and graded fill to foundation level. The site includes material from an old refuse tip which will be disposed of at a specially built lined pit at the McLeans Landfill. It is estimated there will be approximately 3500m3 disposed of at this site and the remaining 1500m3 will be removed to the permitted Coal Creek Pit.
Contract: GDC 2013-14-14 Nelson Creek Road Area Wide Pavement Treatment

Description: This contract required for 150mm granular overlay, pavement rehabilitation, construction and associated works of approximately 2800m on the Nelson Creek Road. Site works include 6100m3 excavation and disposal of cut to waste materials, supply and placement of 6550m3 river run gravel as bulkfill material. Supply of AP65 and M/4 pavement aggregate, replacement and extension of existing culverts, installation of 2 precast culvert headwalls, construction of 300m of new water table followed by first coat sealing and road marking.
Contract: NZTA 11181 Stoneyhurst Sawmill Reconfiguration – Earthworks

Description: This contract is to develop a new log storage area for the Stoneyhurst Sawmill across the drain from their current location. The work involved tree and stump removal, installation of culverts, bulk earthworks and metal course construction for the new storage area and landscaping including fencing.

Description: This contract has 5 Separable Portions of work to be completed which include the operation and management of Environment Canterbury Regional Council’s View Hill Quarry including the extraction, sorting, grading and stockpiling of 94,900 tonnes of rock. It also involves the loading, weighing, transport and placement of this rock to form the required river protection associated with the 2013-2015 capital and maintenance works as part of the Waimakariri Flood Protection Project.

Description: The work involves extending the Cycle Trail by approximately 2200 metres from the southern end of New River Bridge to within 50 metres of the northern end of the Taramakau River Bridge.
Contract: WFPP Contract 2012/E3 RB Ch 10.86 to 13.27 Engelbrechts

Contract Period: February – May 2013
Description: This contract is part of the Waimakariri Flood Protection Project and involves raising and upgrading an existing primary stopbank on the right hand bank between Ch. 10.86 and 13.27km – Engelbrechts. It includes the removal and disposal of trees off site, stripping and stockpiling topsoil, supply and placement of approximately 20,000m3 of river run gravels, culvert extensions, farm accessways, fencing, top-soiling and regrassing.

Description: This contract involves the placement of approximately 18,000 tonnes of graded rock. The work includes extracting and grading of rock from the Council’s View Hill Quarry near Oxford, the transport and placement of this rock, along with associated earthworks and reinstatements to increase the level of flood protection immediately above, below and in between the State Highway One Motorway Bridge and Main North Road and Rail Bridges on the left bank of the Waimakariri River.

Description: The work involves extending the Cycle Trail by approximately 4000 metres from the northern end of Saltwater Creek Bridge (Paroa) to the northern end of the New River Bridge (Camerons area) on the western side of State Highway 6.
